Lexmark x1270 clogged nozzles problem

I got this printer last year on November 24, 2006. For some reason, the nozzles on the print cartridges always get clogged and they get clogged very easily and very quickly. The cleaning routine didn't not work much for me at all. The program that you get when you install the drivers for the printer says that if after cleaning the nozzles a couple of times the nozzles are still clogged, you should replace the cartridge. So, I did this on March 30, 2007. But 10 days or so after that, the nozzles got clogged again and the ink for printers nowadays is very expensive. Who wants to bother buying new cartridges almost every week because of clogged nozzles?

I decided that I had enough of this and read the help files for the printer a bit more and I discovered that they suggest that you take the cartridge out and clean the nozzles with a damp cloth.

I did this and the nozzles were still clogged.

The help file says that you have to repeat this procedure three times.

After the second time, the nozzles were still clogged. So, I decided to do something extreme. I decided to hold the bottom of the cartridge under running hot water for a minute or two and also cleaning the bottom on the cartridge with a wet paper towel.

After doing this, the printout that I got when I checked for clogged nozzles was faded a bit because the water mixed with the ink inside the cartridge. But I waited a couple of hours and finally, all the nozzles are clean.

Maybe next time I'll buy a printer from another manufacturer.
